New Features: Public Laws & AI-Powered Bill Text Comparison

We're excited to announce two major new features that make tracking and understanding legislation easier than ever. These tools bring unprecedented transparency to the legislative process, helping you stay informed about the laws that shape our nation.
Public Laws Tab: Track Signed Legislation
The new Public Laws tab in the Personalized Content widget gives you instant access to all laws signed by the President during the current 119th Congress. No more searching through multiple government websites—everything is in one place.
Each public law entry includes the law number, title, approval date, and direct links to the official Congress.gov page and PDF document.
Bill Text Comparison: See How Legislation Evolves
Understanding how a bill changes as it moves through Congress has never been easier. Our new Bill Text Comparison feature lets you select any two versions of a bill and see exactly what changed between them.
The comparison tool offers two viewing modes: inline diff highlights additions in green and removals in red within the text flow, while side-by-side view places both versions next to each other for easy comparison.
AI-Powered Analysis
What truly sets our comparison tool apart is the integrated AI analysis powered by Claude Sonnet 4.5. After comparing two versions, you'll receive a clear, plain-language summary of the key changes—what was added, removed, or modified, and why it matters.
The AI identifies substantive policy changes versus technical corrections, explains the potential impact of amendments, and highlights provisions that were strengthened or weakened between versions.
Understanding Bill Versions
As bills move through Congress, they go through multiple versions:
- Introduced (IH/IS) - The original bill as first submitted
- Reported (RH/RS) - After committee review and amendments
- Engrossed (EH/ES) - As passed by House or Senate
- Enrolled (ENR) - Final version sent to the President
- Public Law (PL) - After presidential signature
These new features are available now to all Hakivo users. Log in to explore the Public Laws tab and try comparing bill versions on any legislation you're tracking.
